The GREAT CHRISTMAS ADVENTure is set for 6 lessons- with each lesson divided into several stations (described below). Parents (or Grandparents) will pick up their VBS-IN-A-BAG before starting- so you have all the stuff needed to share in the fun! Each lesson is shared once a week (on Sunday) leading up to Christmas Eve (that's 5 lessons) and a final lesson on Christmas Eve. This helps families begin to celebrate the Season of Advent (a word that means 'arriving') as a family- lighting a new candle around the Advent Wreath (that you will make on the first Sunday). Throughout the week then- your whole family will continue the lessons learned that week- looking for the meaning of Christmas in your decorations and conversations! We'll certainly have some more directions in your bag- but you already have a better understanding of how this program will deepen your kiddo's understanding of the season. Below is a description of the different 'stations' that you will go through on each Sunday- to provide a multi-sensory ADVENTure! If you have any questions- please don't hesitate to reach out to Pastor Bob, who compiled this program- {419-606-8516 or [email protected]}
Every lesson starts here- as families meet up with Mr Tim and Miss Becky for the Welcome Station! These two will give an overview of the day's lesson- and introduce the Craft, Bible Story, Christmas Symbol of the day... NEVER to forget about those Puppet Songs! Tim and Becky come back at the end for a recap and to help focus us for the week ahead!

The Bible Exploration Station gets us started on the Bible story for the day and teaches how that day's theme (Our King, Hope, Peace, Joy, Love or Light) can deepen our acceptance and understanding of who Jesus is for us. The theme then is the focus of not only the lesson- but the prayers for the family for the whole week.

Crafts are always a great place for 'hands-on' learners to get their craftiness going! These crafts are also centered around the theme and scope of the day's stations- but they also provide a time for parents or grandparents who are helping construct the craft to ask some (pre-provided) questions... to deepen the day's lesson.
